Culminating Blog
With all the knowledge gained through this experience ive learned many things throughout this project. When starting this project i did not know where to go i thought it would just be a normal thing were just being a manager running the store and just keep track of everything else. But i wanted to do something differnt and thanks to my mentor she was able to guide me where this project could go. She as well wanted to do something differnt and we came to the conclusion on how can we make a change on what the everyday customer gets and if we can change their minds about healthy eating instead of just getting the usual.
Some examples on how we could per say advertise healthy items to customers we would offer them apples instead of fries or milk for the sodas. And if some customers were to listen myself and my mentor would explain to the customers on how much fast food can really affect the body. And to my amazement some customers really started to make a change. It started in small numbers but it meant that this project was progressing.
Throughout this project i gained much experience but also faced many challenges. First for the experience i gained a tolerance for people. What i mean by that is there were many customers that did not want to hear about the health affects of fast food and wouldnt give me a least a minute to explain, in sense it let me gained tolreance for peoples ignorance. But at the same time i wasnt much of a people person and i Liked to keep to myself but this project made me go out of my comfort zone which was tough for me but eventually i got through my own barrier. And now for the challenges well the main challenges through this project was simply the customers and myself and my mentor trying to give out the message on fast food. To explain it it felt like were repeating over and over again and barely anyone would listen so that was a chanllege itself but also taught me persistence to not give up on something just because progress isnt showing it takes time.

fourth day

With my mentor showing me everything its coming to a close the last couple things my mentor has shown me was very time consuming. Every 31st of every month the managers have to do store count meaning checking every single item in the store from toilet paper for employees bathrooms to how many burgers you can count. It really at least i think wasn't essential for me to learn about this but my mentor has a reason. One other thing my mentor showed me was something called the bk guru i honestly think this was stupid but its how employees learn even managers. Its an instructional video showing various parts of the restruant about how to manage it how employees behave and how employees should be clean. Managers have their section but its mostly review for them.

As continued on the last post my mentor has shown me many things to be a manager checking for comprehension from your employees to having to be prepared every single minute for a inspection on the dot. It has been stressful even my mentor can be drained but what we learned or what i was taught today was sometimes we would have to advise some customers to stay away or choose a diffrent item because of customers health. Sometimes fast food joints may not be the same but we did advise customers to choose a diffrent item but managers get the heat because its their decsion to make.

So as continued on the last post managers have it tougher than i thought what's the hardest part of being a manager of a fast food place is surprise inspections you have to be on your toes all the time every time. Anything that happens you get deducted points, they use a point system to correct you but you also have to make sure that your employee's know what they need to know because even just a slight mess up you get down graded and more on watch. We always had to make sure that everything is in tip top shape and review with every employee to see how much they need to remember

first day of management
The first day of manager january 20 2014
Monday was the first time i saw and participated as being a manager and it wasn't easy as i thought it would be it was a lot of work.the first thing i did with my mentor was counting drawers for cashiers you have to be very exact with your counting if you mess up the slightest you get a write up.you don't want to get one of those but in any case once that was done there was a customer problem and let me say it was tough handling customers with that much rage it was tough.
